Keeping your security tools up to date is critical. HCL AppScan is committed to helping organizations maintain a strong security posture, and part of that commitment includes managing product lifecycles effectively.

To support this lifecycle approach and enhance your overall protection, we’re announcing changes that require your attention to ensure your deployments and future planning take full advantage.

End of Support for 10.7.X

Effective March 31, 2027, HCL AppScan will officially end support for version 10.7.X across AppScan Standard, AppScan Source, and AppScan Enterprise. Support removal from My HCLSoftware will begin on June 30, 2026. After this date, customers using 10.7.X will no longer receive updates and patches.

If you’re a customer using 10.7.X, this transition is an ideal opportunity to update your security posture and benefit from the significant enhancements we’ve made in our latest versions. Improved vulnerability detection, AI-driven analysis, user experience, support for modern applications, and compliance frameworks are just a few of the improvements designed to make security testing faster, more accurate and easier to manage.

Why Upgrading Matters

Upgrading to our latest versions isn't just a maintenance task. It brings immediate, tangible improvements to your daily workflows, whether you are testing dynamically, scanning source code or managing enterprise-wide risk.

Since the release of 10.7.X, we have introduced multiple powerful iterations of our application security testing platform - HCL AppScan, including the 10.8.X, 10.9.X, 10.10.X and 10.11.X series. We strongly encourage you to upgrade to the latest release to fully leverage our newest AI-driven analysis, enhanced compliance reporting, and performance improvements and expanded threat coverage with over 35 new DAST security rules.

Important Licensing Update

For customers upgrading directly from 10.7.X, all licensing for the latest versions is now managed through the My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal. This shift to MHS streamlines license management, simplifies software distribution and provides a centralized view of deployments, making it easier for teams to manage multiple environments. Before installing your new software, log in to MHS to create new deployments and assign licenses.

Next Steps for Customers

We’re here to support you through the transition, so you don’t have to navigate it on your own. If you need guidance on planning your upgrade or setting up MHS licensing, our support team is ready to assist. Simply open a case in the HCLSoftware Customer Support Portal, and our experts will guide you through the process.

Don't wait until the deadline to enhance the security of your applications. Stay protected, stay current and continue to leverage HCL AppScan to secure your applications with confidence.
