HCL Domino 14.5 Early Access Program (EAP) Drop 2 is here, bringing powerful new features enhancing usability, security, and AI-driven capabilities. Released in December 2024, this update introduces significant improvements designed to streamline operations and elevate the user experience. We’ve put considerable effort into these enhancements, and we’re excited for you to try them out.

Key Enhancements in Domino 14.5 EAP Drop 2

Domino IQ

The introduction of Domino IQ in Domino 14.5 EAP Drop 2 marks a significant advancement in integrating AI capabilities into the Domino platform. This development is particularly notable, aligning with the growing trend of AI adoption across industries, and promises to substantially enhance the user experience.

It introduces a new Domino IQ component and a DominoIQ server task which initiates an inference engine within the database server process. Emphasizing data security and trust, the AI engine performs all processing locally on the Domino server. Consequently, your data remains entirely under your control, without transmission to external servers or cloud services.

Unleash AI-powered innovation with Domino 14.5 by leveraging NVIDIA GPUs. Just recently, we released the Domino 14.5 Early Access Drop 2 Refresh shipping with NVIDIA CUDA-built AI inferencing server component. Whether you run Domino on Windows or Linux servers, our AI inferencing components seamlessly work with NVIDIA GPU hardware, optimizing your existing investments.

Language Kits

In addition to English, Group 1 language kits are now available, including Brazilian Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese. This broader language support allows users from diverse linguistic backgrounds to work with Domino in their preferred language, enhancing accessibility and ease of use.

Notes Client Workspace Search

Easily locate Notes applications with the new Workspace Search, accessible directly from the workspace or Notes search center.

iNotes UI Deprecation

With the release of HCL Domino v14.5, the iNotes web interface will no longer be available, and we encourage you to switch to HCL Verse for webmail.

Note: If you don't already have Verse configured, see What's Included in Domino installation in the Domino 14.5 documentation.

iNotes will still be available in Domino versions up to 14.0; and for those who need continued access, we recommend maintaining a Domino v14.0 server for business continuity.

OnTime Update

Experience the latest enhancements to the group calendar client interface, streamlining collaboration like never before with OnTime 11.5.1. See the OnTime for Domino documentation for details.

Enhanced Passkey Management

A number of passkey notes.ini settings have been removed; and they’re now controlled in the new settings in the Internet Site document, allowing you the granularity to configure each internet site. No more digging through notes.ini, the settings are now handled through the UI.

We've also got this cool passkey-only authentication feature. The server intelligently detects user passkey availability and dynamically adjusts the login prompt. Users will either encounter a password field with a clear option to create a passkey, or a simplified "Log in with a passkey" button, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly login experience."
