ZIEWIN and ZIEWEB Server Integration - Interoperability

The HCL Z and I Emulator for Windows (ZIEWin) Online Session Manager provides a client-server model of emulator configuration management for users in addition to the existing localized offline mode.

Interoperability

Interoperability enables ZIEWin users to access their profiles via ZIEWeb (client) as well as the ZIEWeb Client after migrating or uploading their profiles to the ZIEWeb Client Server. ZIEWin users can access their profiles via ZIEWeb (client) as well as the ZIEWeb Client after migrating or uploading their profiles to the ZIEWeb Client Server.

Pre-requisites

• ZIEWin must be installed on the system.
• ZIEWeb must be installed and configured with the ZIEWeb Client.

Steps to enable ZIEWIN and ZIEWeb Integration

1. Press Win + R, type userpm, and press Enter to open the ZIEWin Preferences Manager.

2. The Preferences Manager window will appear.

3. Navigate to the Advanced tab and enter the following ZIEWeb server details.

• Config Server: http://<ServerMachineIP>/interop
• Config Server Port: <ServerPort>

4. Click the Apply button to save the changes, then click OK to close the Preferences Manager.

5. Navigate to the HCL ZIE for Web (ZIEWeb) installation directory and open the Config.properties file.

6. Add the following parameter to the file: “InterOpContextPath=interop”

7. Access the ZIEWebAdminFull page, select the checkbox "Allow users to create accounts", and then click Log Off to apply the changes.

Configuring Online Session Manager:

1. Press Win + R, type pcsfm, and press Enter to launch HCL Z and I Emulator for Windows (Online).
2. Click OK,; the ZIEWin Online User Creation page will appear.
3. To create a new user, enter the desired User Name and Password in the respective fields, then click OK.

Note:

• For existing users, click Existing User >> to log in.
• If a user wants to create a new set of credentials again, update the ZIEConfigWizStatus parameter in the Registry Editor (regedit) to 0. 

4. The Profile Migration tab will appear. Click Yes to migrate the profiles to the ZIEWeb client server.

5. Create a session from ZIEWIN. 

6. Access the FullAdmin page to verify that the sessions created from ZIEWin are available.

7. Access the ZIEWeb Admin Console to verify that the sessions created from ZIEWin are available.
