The Challenge
Working in a highly regulated environment, a global BioPharma innovation enterprise needed to decrease time to production for new releases and reduce costs for their internal enterprise applications. They didn’t have the required human resources and expertise to create and execute rigorous test automation for their business-critical applications, so they contracted with HCLTech to provide test automation expertise for a large part of their internal enterprise and R&D applications: ServiceNow, SAP S4HANA, SAP Ariba, Monday.com, and Global Regulatory Affairs Submission Planner (GRASP).
The Solution
To ensure their business-critical systems are updated correctly and efficiently, the company invested in test automation with HCL DevOps Test and HCLTech. By leveraging HCL DevOps Test UI, they automated more than 550 regression test cases to make sure that every application change, patch, and upgrade release met the quality and compliance standards the company needed to run their business. They also automated the creation of the needed test data for their test scenarios and focused on the high-risk regression tests.
The Results
The company’s on-demand execution of their automated regression test suites across their ServiceNow, SAP S4HANA, SAP Ariba, Monday.com, and GRASP applications has been reduced from 167 total days to 37 days – saving them more than 75% on execution time. They also achieved between 85% and 90% automated test coverage for their enterprise applications, giving them confidence in the quality of their solutions. With the simplicity of the HCL DevOps Test UI product, they recognized their onboarding process for new team members is substantially easier, cutting the time in half in comparison to other test automation solution vendors.
