The Challenge
This Global Mining Enterprise is a global producer of base metals across the world. They were not staffed to conduct rigorous testing of their business-critical SAP NetWeaver portfolio of applications, so they contracted with HCLTech to provide application support and maintenance, including testing expertise. The Global Mining Enterprise struggled with consistency and confidence in their current testing practices where manual testing was conducted on an-hoc basis by support consultants.
The Solution
To keep their business-critical SAP systems running well, the Global Mining Enterprise needed better test coverage to ensure top quality results. Along with HCLTech’s testing experience, the company chose HCL DevOps Test to automate more than 270 end-to-end and individual test scenarios to ensure that every SAP NetWeaver application configuration change, patch and upgrade meets the quality standards that the Global Mining Enterprise needs to run their business.
The Results
Their weekly execution of their automated regression test suite takes between 16 and 20 hours and covers most of the Global Mining Enterprise’s major business scenarios. HCL DevOps Test provides robust and detailed automated reports that give the Global Mining Enterprise stakeholders confidence that their critical SAP applications are working properly.
