Overview

  • Part 1

    Challenge

The telecom provider maintained multiple distributed lab environments for testing and automation across four locations , operating with over 30 telecom monitoring and infrastructure management tools used for alarms, performance monitoring, fault management, topology visibility, and operational data. Teams relied heavily on manual cross-system analysis due to the lack of a centralized operational view across the distributed environments.

  • Part 2

    Solution

HCL HIVE is being implemented as a unified telecom observability platform to consolidate alarms, KPIs, logs, topology, and operational data across RAN (Radio Access Network ), Transport, Core (4G/5G), IP, Access and Data Centers. The solution brings together multi-vendor telemetry into a centralized operational view with support for cross-domain correlation, AI-driven analytics, and automation-driven workflows.

  • Part 3

    Results

The implementation is delivering centralized visibility across 30+ OEM tools and distributed telecom lab environments. By reducing reliance on manual cross-tool analysis, the platform is enabling faster operational insight, improved cross-domain visibility, and supporting ongoing lab consolidation initiatives across strategic locations.

The Challenge

The global telecom provider manages one of the most advanced multi-domain network infrastructure across RAN, Transport, Core (4G/5G), IP, Access (GPON/OLT/ONT) and Data Center.

Fragmented Visibility

The operator maintained multiple data center environments for testing different domains across the network, operating with more than 30 different OEM tools. The data was not consolidated into a single tool, and there was no single pane of glass view of all project aspects across the network. Different skill sets were needed to operate the various tools across domains and there was no single source of truth for assets.

Operational Inefficiencies

Network engineers spent significant time manually correlating information across disconnected systems. This reactive operating model slowed troubleshooting and made it difficult to identify issues before they affected services.

Strategic Consolidation

The primary driver was to consolidate distributed lab environments and centralize performance and fault data into a single platform to improve operational awareness across locations.

The Solution

The telecom provider deployed the HCL HIVE Observability Platform (Telco Edition) from HCLSoftware, alongside complementary operational capabilities including the IP-led solution, digital cockpit, and AI governance delivered by HCLTech.

Unified Telco Observability Platform

HCL HIVE helps telecom teams monitor different network and technology environments through one centralized platform, giving operations teams a clearer view of service performance and issues.

Intelligent Data Pipeline

The platform brings together alarms, logs, events, and performance data from different monitoring tools into one place. Through normalization and enrichment, it helps reduce operational silos and fragmented visibility across domains.

Cross-Domain Intelligence

Using cross-domain correlation, topology-aware intelligence, and analytics, the solution helps connect network behavior with service impact to support faster issue identification, anomaly detection, and operational decision-making across NOC and service operations teams.

AI-Driven Predictive Analytics

The platform incorporates AI-driven analytics capabilities based on operational and performance KPIs across multiple tools and domains to support predictive visibility into overall lab and network health.

Closed-Loop Automation

Through its closed-loop automation framework, the platform automates ticketing and policy-driven actions, shifting operations from reactive monitoring to proactive assurance.

The Results

HCL HIVE is being implemented to support centralized telecom observability and operational intelligence across distributed telecom lab and network environments.

  • Unified operational visibility – Centralized digital cockpit across 30+ tools and multiple telecom network domains
  • Cross-domain operational intelligence – Automated cross-domain correlation capabilities reducing reliance on manual analysis across distributed monitoring environments
  • Automation-driven operations – Automated ticketing and policy-based workflows enabling faster operational response and streamlined operations
  • AI-assisted operational analytics – AI-driven predictive analytics delivering visibility into lab and network health
  • Support for strategic consolidation initiatives – Centralized observability capabilities supporting the consolidation of labs into four strategic locations
