A product’s optimal quality has always been a priority in software.

Evaluating software components under unexpected or expected conditions is very crucial. Therefore, the testing team plays a significant role in business growth by evaluating the quality of the product.

As a tester, how many times are you lost in reports and dump documents into mailboxes? It happens a lot, and testers often have to start from scratch.

A new unified report in HCL OneTest Server allows you to analyze test results with ease of access: the report consolidates the capabilities of Functional Test and Web UI test reports and supports all test types of HCL OneTest UI. By using an extensive and intuitive design, the Unified Report provides the following capabilities to analyze your test result:

Comprehensive details of the test run allows you to swiftly deep dive into the issues in your test:

— Drill-down from complex compound Tests to specific test iteration details

— View the screenshots captured from the test run in a carousel format

— Live reporting from the test run

— Export test results in an HTML format from the report

Quick View Approach

The first section of the report provides a bird’s eye view of the executed results at one glance. It is ideal for Managers and Testers who want to analyze the health of the assets quickly and communicate the same within their team.

Let’s get into details about how to view result’s report quickly:

— Donut chart  gives a fresh and quick view of the result

— Displays relative proportions of passed or failed tests with color code

— Helps to summarize large data

— Takes less time for analysis

— Anchors to dig down the report for further investigation

Unified Reports have a much higher range of magnification of data and anyone can detect smaller details of assets at each level of the hierarchy. You can hover over the relevant icon to see microscopic details for an individual asset without even expanding the accordion.

The following details can be seen when you hover over the icons:

— How many test steps failed?

— Which browser was used during execution?

— Which host was associated?

— How long did the test take to execute?

Details

Screenshot Capture: During recording and playback, the screenshots are captured and attached to each test asset. You can easily view all captured screenshots all together with description in the carousel.
