Let’s Get Started with Unica V12.1 is an interactive video series hosted by Kelly Powers that dives into the “how” of the Unica Platform. Unica is super powerful, and every video in our series will touch on the platform’s power. We already did part 1 and part 2 on ‘Let’s Get Started in Unica Campaign.’ and ‘Let’s Get Started in Unica Deliver.‘ This time we are here with a series of short videos which can guide you through one of the most essential modules from the suite – Unica Plan.

Plan is one of your modules where we start creating your campaign plan. You can plan your output files and build high-level plans – say the categories you would want to split your campaigns into. Under plans then, you can start building your programs, projects, tasks, calendars, and even teams. We published Part 1 of the blog, which talks about building the Plan, Program, and Projects; let’s learn about how to further use Unica Plan in detail in this blog.

Target Cells in Projects

Target Cells is a hidden gem in Project, where a marketing professional and a developer can have a conversation with each other through flowchart data. In Target Cells, marketers can do their segmenting, determine the audience break down, and communicate this to the developer, or oppositely, the developer creates the flowchart/segments. The data is then pushed to Target Cells through approvals. The numbers are in the Target Cells, and transparency is there between the two teams. This is beneficial for quick counts or targeting to ensure the quantities are where both parties expect them to be. Let’s learn more about target cells in this replay.

Workflow in Projects

Workflow is another part of Project, where all the steps to create a campaign can be tracked by all the users. In Workflow, the step by step processes for a campaign can be set up for any person who is a part of the campaign to know what their tasks are and what others’ tasks are. Workflow has the capability for timing, approvals, dependencies between tasks, and notifications, so anyone who is a part of the campaign is aware of their task and can view the tasks of others. This replay helps you understand how you can create workflows for your entire team.

Plan as per your needs

A very powerful part of the Plan is the ability to configure as each client requires. Plan/Program and Project can also be configured with additional attributes required. These attributes may be brought in from data, created with drop down’s, or whatever the need and can become part of the data points for any campaign. In addition, these data points can be pushed downstream for reporting or analytics. The replay talks about the capabilities of the Unica Plan and how it can be configured to your company’s requirements.
